In a concerted effort to support cattle farmers impacted by the devastating floods caused by Tropical Storm Sara, the Belize Livestock Producers Association (BLPA) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE) have joined forces to deliver vital livestock feed to affected areas within the Belize River Valley (BRV) and Crooked Tree Village.This initiative aims to alleviate the challenges faced by local farmers, ensuring their livestock receive necessary nourishment as they recover from the floodwaters.
Feedmill was also Distributed to the farmers of Crooked Tree. Thanks to the generous support of Caribbean Tires, transportation for the feed was made possible, while the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) collaborated with the water transportation.
Over 56 farmers owning approximately 3500 animals are to be benefiting form this much needed assistance.This collaborative effort is a crucial response to the destruction caused by Tropical Storm Sara, which inundated farmlands and posed serious challenges to the region’s agricultural sustainability. The provision of feed in the form of mill feed, hay, and silage was made possible through funding from Chairman Arden Edwards and the BLPA, as well as Minister Jose Mai and MAFSE, with support from the Government of Belize.
